When I say we went to Nainital, it’s probably a bit misleading. We didn’t see the bustling tourist town, we were out at a little cottage hidden away amongst the tall trees and it was blissful. A blissful retreat from this city life.
I wish I was there now. A respite from this soupy Bombay heat that I AM SO NOT ENJOYING right now. It’s been a tough couple of nights in the Stephens household so I am looking at these photos of Nainital and imagining being there again. Amongst those lofty tall trees…
We flew to Delhi and then took an early morning train to Kathgodam; closest station to Nainital. This was our first train journey together! Robert spent most of it sleeping on account of two sleepless nights prior to that day and I spent most of my time engrossed in my book (Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn)

The quaint station of Kathgodam.

Gorgeous evening light peeking through the trees.

Aprés-dinner bonfires!

The only photo of me. Courtesy of Robert, taken at a time of day that I clearly did not want to be awake!

Okay, I guess that wasn’t the ONLY photo of me.
